Casey Waddell, 12th Grade, “Feather,” charcoal. The essence of this piece is to capture the somber winter mornings I would spend in art class. The darker range of values of this piece are meant to emphasize the darker, quieter time period of my life. This piece taught me that art is a tool of self-expression whether that statement is implicit or not.
