Lost in the Moment

Star Tangwall

When the snow is falling effortlessly

And the wind is making the branches sway

The only light is a dim street lamp outside your window

A feeling unlike any other

Simply this moment in time

It’s simplistic but not bad

Comforting in an odd way

Your head feels like a grey mist is over it

The sky is almost orange with lust

My heart aches as I stare at the world outdoors

The window is the thing keeping me from being out and pouring my emotion out of me like a leaking vase

Unable to do its one job in life

And yet I stay here with a deep breath

I take in the peacefulness of this evening as a blessing not a curse.
